Program Manager – En Classe

Unit: En Classe in Kinshasa
Reports to: President and Board of En Classe
Location: Kinshasa, DRC
Salary: interesting
Contractual status: 6 months contract – renewable
Working hours: Full time (40 hours per week)

En Classe is a Dutch/US foundation, established in May 2007. Its aim is to build brighter futures for Congolese children by improving the learning conditions at primary schools in Kinshasa. En Classe supports 25 schools, which are located in different “communes”, all over Kinshasa.

En Classe is currently looking for a Program Manager, to strengthen its local organization in Kinshasa. We are looking for someone who:

• likes building relationships.
• has the capacity to work independently.
• speaks and writes in English.
• has excellent computer skills.
• is dedicated to represent En Classe and what En Classe stands for.

The main role of the Program Manager is to monitor the development and execution of the different programs that En Classe runs in Kinshasa. The Program Manager will further:

• be the main contact person on a weekly and sometimes daily basis, using e-mail and Skype for En Classe boardmembers, who are (partly) based in the US.
• ensure close collaboration and coordination with all our cooperating partners, such as NGO’s with expertise in a certain field/specialized NGO’s
• check and report regularly on the progress of projects, for example in the area of renovation, hygiene or teacher training through daily visits.
• identify problems and report these but at the same time try to come with solutions for the problem
• monitor achievement of project goals within the set time limits
