Job title: IT VAS Engineer
1. Grade: niveau intermédiaire
2. Reports Eports to: IT VAS Team Leader

4. Basic Purpose
Under the supervision of the VAS Team leader, the objective of the position is to assure the best output of all VAS services in production; high availability and high quality of services in production according their specifications.
5. Level of impact
Important contributor in business revenue in term of implementation of the company commercial initiative. Lack of attention in VAS system manipulation and maintenance might result in direct revenue loss.
6. Latitude:
- Implement new vas system in time and quality according to Project Manager Planning;
- Analyze and propose some efficient solutions to solve problems met in business. Or to handle s and to present some ad hoc reports
- Receive and transform business needs in viable and reliable VAS
- solution
- Follow up for GSM /GPRS support and all VAS related implementations;
- Contribute to VAS products and system documentation (procedures, processes, etc.)
7.Main responsabilities and duties:
- Daily and weekly reporting to the VAS Team Leader;
- Provide second level support for all VAS systems and products in operation;
- Assist and support the project manager during the development of any VAS system or product.
- Produce documentations for VAS system where required (code commenting, developer’s guide, users’ guide and operation manual);
- Daily monitoring of VAS servers;
- Produce and analyze internal statistics related to the usage of VAS Services (VMS, SMS, content services, …);
- Application development on demand (Marketing Promo etc,..);
Additional duties and responsabilities
- Elaborate and modify procedures
- Participates in the analysis of Marketing’s product projects
- Give recommendations for VAS evolution

9. Essentuials Knowledge:
High knowledge of:
- Database management and design theoretical skills
- Familiar with at least one relational database management system with a strong knowledge of SQL standard language (ORACLE, MS SQL, etc);
- Familiar with at least JAVA programming language
- Knowledge of shell scripting (Perl, Bash script, MS-DOS scripting)
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of GSM and GPRS call flow
- Ability to read, write and understand technical documentation
Knowledge of:
- Elaboration of procedures and emergency in the event of VAS systems disaster
- Capacity to assess supplier offer in line with the business needs
10. Qualifications
- 3 years University Degree in computer science
- At least 1 year experience in application development and IT system management
- Knowledge of French and English (both speaking and writing)
