Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction and supervision of PID Information Technology Manager, execute all IT network-related tasks (LAN and WAN). Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Maintenance of hardware: Computers, Printers, Digital Senders, Switches, Access Points, etc and coordinate with the IT Manager for the smooth functioning of LAN infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and rectify network connectivity problems in a LAN environment of switches and wireless access points.
Assist on migration of users’ desktops to virtual desktop infrastructures.
Receive and log problem calls or service requests related to PID network infrastructure.
Assist and train users on specials software such as Cool Edit, Adobe Audition, Simian, and Selector.
Backups of data.
Update client’s computers with latest patches and assuming that antivirus are up to date.
Perform others duties as required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: A minimum of high school diploma. Post-secondary school education in computer science and knowledge in implementing and maintaining computer network systems desirable.
EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years experience working with Information Technology systems.
LANGUAGE: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this post fluency in oral and written French is required. Fluency in oral and written English is an added advantage.

Other Skills: Valid driving license would be an advantage. Knowledge of TCP/IP network, Active Directory, Virtualization, Lotus Notes, Outlook and broadcasting related software.
