DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the R&I Unit, Entebbe Supervisor, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks:

Ensure that items received are in accordance with specifications, terms and conditions specified in     relevant purchase order (PO), letter-of-Assistance (LOA) or contract;
Actively participate in receiving and inspection procedures throughout the entire mission area for delivery of ration and other assets as required;
Inspect and receive bulk fuel and lubricants and prepare the necessary reports for speedy payment processing and handover to self-accounting units;
Process R&I Reports/ Goods Receipt Slips in Umoja and and Galileo systems;
Submit R&I Reports and Discrepancy Reports (DR)  to finance, Self-Accounting Units (SAU), property control unit (PCIS) as well as UN Headquarter as required;
Enter data on assets and attractive items into Galileo monitoring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of all items reflected in the database, Bar-code all non-expendable assets in accordance with UN property management guidelines and thresholds; Inform Self Accounting Units, PCIU and Procurement Section regarding new deliveries, storage, technical inspection and physical checks.
Conduct Board of Survey in conjunction with the SAUs, PCIS and Property Disposal Unit (PDS) and subsequently prepare Board of Survey reports and update the Galileo WODM database accordingly;
Submit a Weekly Log Report to the chief of the R&I Unit.;
Availability to report to work at short notice even during holidays when required.
Availability for deployment for operational requirement any time in all MONUSCO mission area in DRC including Entebbe in Uganda.
Perform other related task/duties, as required by supervisor.

      Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in administrative services, logistics, inventory, receipt and inspection or related field. Good computer skills, including word and excel is required.

Experience in Galileo, UMOJA, and Business Object Applications is desirable.Experience in

Language:  English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.

Other Skills: Light vehicle driving license and Light forklift operator permit is desirable.
