The U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa is seeking an individual for the position of Motor Pool Supervisor in the Motor Pool Section.
Basic Function of Position
The incumbent serves as Motor Pool Supervisor for the operation of the motor pool. Works directly for the Transportation Assistant for all mission transportation operations, vehicles and equipment, and for the logistics of official visitors to the DRC. The incumbent is the supervisor for 53 Local Employed Staff, including 49 chauffeurs, 2 detailers, 1 administrative clerk, and 1 dispatcher.
Qualifications Required:
Education: Completion of high school is required.
Experience: Two years experience in the transportation related area is required.
Language Proficiency: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) English and French ability is required. Good Working Knowledge of local language, namely Lingala is also required.
Knowledge: Must have a good knowledge of automotive operation, safety and maintenance practices. Knowledge of local regulations with respect to exoneration, registration, licensing and insurance procedures is required.
Skills and Abilities: Must have good supervisory abilities; be perceptive and diplomatic. Must have a valid local driver’s license.
