Summary of principal functions
Under the guidance of the Medical Officer in charge of UNOE Level 1 Lubumbashi.
1. Receives clients through the established working hours:
a) Registers clients at reception
b) Assists clients in completing forms
c) Screens, advises and directs clients regarding services
d) Conducts quick malaria test and ensures documentation of such
e) Retrieves/creates client folder and ensures documents are properly filed and intact
f) Takes vital signs of patients (BP, pulse, temperature, etc)
g) Establishes which Medical Officer is ready to receive client
h) Escorts client to consulting room.
2. On daily basis, retrieves patient folders from all consulting rooms and files all documents by COB.
3. Administers vaccinations.
4. Conduct eyes tests.
5. Dispenses drugs and provides treatment as prescribed by the attendant Medical Officer.
6. On a weekly basis, provides drug consumption report to the Medical Officer in charge of UNOE Level 1 Lubumbashi.
7. On a daily basis, ensures the availability of drugs and the functioning of all medical equipment in the emergency room.
8. Ensures that his/her sub-unit is manned in accordance with the duty roster prepared by the Medical Officer in charge of UNOE Level 1 Lubumbashi.
9. Performs any other duties that might be assigned to him/her by the Medical Officer in charge of UNOE Level 1 Lubumbashi.
All services provided to any client in the clinic are strictly confidential and should under no circumstance be disclosed to any person outside of the clinic.
Breach of confidentiality will result in disciplinary action against the staff member.
Qualifications
Degree in Nurse-Registered Nurse.
Experience
Minimum of six years of progressively increasing responsibility.
Languages
Good knowledge of spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset.
