1. CONTEXT

This is an opportunity to work for an International Telecom Company’s head office. This company is looking for motivated, ambitious and flexible individuals, able to work in an English environment, meet challenges and achieve defined goals. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating the company’s global corporate communications and strategy, including non-product and executive communication, partner integration, issues and crisis management and the Brand PR.
2. REPORTING LINE

The Corporate Public Relations Manager will report to the CEO.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Corporate Public Relations Manager will be in charge of :
  • Managing the corporate leadership planning and executive communications while driving the global non-product communication strategy.
  • Working closely with the Marketing Team, the HR team, Business & Products Management teams and Executives in the coordination of messaging with external partners while driving the company’s story in DR Congo.
  • Implement the communication strategy of the company.
  • Planning and executing media program around major corporate news events.
  • Develop communication strategies for disseminating key corporate messages including drafting press releases, directing external PR agencies and evaluating the success of campaigns.
  • Write, edit and create a variety of materials used to reach internal and external consumers, including blog posts, messaging frameworks for spokespeople, and more.
  • Be a public spokesperson to media, the blogosphere, at various public events, industry parties, or other opportunities.
  • Report in progress made by the implementation of the communication strategic plan.
  • Driving positive perceptions of the company.
  • Develop programs that differentiate the company from its competitors.
  • Define and deliver the success metrics used to measure the performance of the company’s global PR programs.
  • Take overall responsibility for keeping media contact details and distribution lists relevant and up to date.
  • Collaborate well with a variety of internal and external teams, including Brand Marketing, Product Management, and others, to identify and maximize global PR opportunities.
  • Effectively work with the Executive Head of MD’s Office to manage the PR agencies, with a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Drive process efficiency and planning for the global PR team including provide support for interviews and drafting talking points for executives.

4. BASIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication and in any similar fields.
  • Work experience as a Communication manager with a Telecom Company (5 years minimum)
  • Work experience as a manager (2 years Minimum)
  • Work experience as a journalist

6. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

  • Excellent command of English and fluent in French (written and spoken).
