RESPONSABILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Medical Officer and supervision of the Head Nurse, she/he;

I.    Responsible for reception of patients:

  • Registration of personnel details (Name, ID,)
  • Assisting patients with completion of form.
  • collaborating with the nurses for further medical attention to patients (appointments for vaccinations, consultations, etc)

II.    Responds to emergency calls and assists Medical Officers in providing adequate care;
III.    Performs diagnostic and screening tests such as: ECG, Eye test and other tests as required.

  •            She/he will dispense drugs as prescribed by the Medical Officer.

IV.    Performs clinical assessment of patients visiting the walk-in clinic; provides care/advice as prescribed by the Medical Officer.
V.    Assists in providing health education and health promotion programs; participates in work environment assessment, and addresses other occupational health issues.
VI.    Performs other related duties as required.

Work implies frequent interaction with the following:

  • Staff across the Organization
  • Personnel in office of Staff Counselor
  • Security officers
  • Physicians and nurses outside the UN
  • Delegates and NGO Representatives
  • Visitors

Competencies:

  • Professionalism:  Knowledge of clinical, occupational and travel nursing. Formal training in CPR and, preferably, in BCLS and ACLS or equivalent emergency medical care. Knowledge of major medical office equipment and ability to use them in emergency situations. Knowledge of basic diagnostic equipment and ability to use them. Knowledge of modern medical information technology and solid computer skill. Qualifications:

  • I.    Education:     University degree (B.S. or equivalent) in nursing. National registration and license are required.
  • II.    Experience:    Several years of experience in nursing or related area.
