RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Air Terminal Assistant-Ramp is, under the direct supervision of the Chief Aviation Officer/ Chief of Air Terminal Unit/Sector Air Operations, responsible for the following:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Plan space for parking of UN aircraft and ensures that all aircrafts are clear of obstruction while taxing in/out of the ramp.

2. Supervise personal on the ramp, passengers up/down loading and ensure that flight line procedures are followed and the aircraft and vehicles are following ramp movement.

3. Ensures personnel involved in movement of personnel on the ramp gets proper safety briefing including awareness of danger zones around fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.

4. Due to flight schedule, the air terminal assistant-Ramp has to be present at the airfield at least one hour prior to take off and the least thirty minutes after landing of the last UN aircraft at the duty station.

5. Coordinates UN ground movements on the tarmac requirements with ATC and appropriate authorities and MOVCON.

6. Serve as focal point for all information relating to air traffic flow.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Secondary education and formal training and extensive experience in ground handling and marshalling, sound supervisory skills and ability to make prompt decisions are necessary.

2. Must posses detailed knowledge of ICAO regulations regarding flight line procedure and aerodrome operations

WORK EXPERIENCE:

1. At least four (4) years of experience in an occupation directly related to Air Terminal and/or Flight Operations;

2. Experience and knowledgeable concerning off/on loading procedure for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft.

LANGUAGES:

A good command of oral and written English and knowledge of French is desirable
