WWF-DRC: Recruitment of a consultant for Financial Operations

The WWF in Democratic Republic of Congo is recruiting a consultant for a maximum period of 6 months an individual to conduct the following activities:

Specific Objectives:

-           Carry out a comprehensive analysis of existing finance processes, procedures and workflow

-           Support the country office to plan and formulate improved processes and policies and accompany their implementation

-           Participate in the implementation of the priority changes

Duties and Responsibilities for the Consultant:

The Consultant’s scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following main activities:

-           review existing finance processes and procedures and relevant documentation (such as audit action lists, assessment reports, current regional / global procedures)

-           identify areas for improvement (from quick wins to longer term changes) in line with the new Field Operations Manual and the overall economic, administrative and general external environment in DRC

-           propose improvements in management and changes to current processes and procedures

-           draft a procedures manual for WWF DRC and validate it with staff and senior management team

-           develop an improvement plan to put agreed upon improvement measures into action

-           Accompany the implementation of priority changes identified in the plan under the leadership of senior management

-           train staff members on the new procedures

Expected Outputs:

1.         An analysis report of WWF DRC’s existing finance procedures and processes and proposed measures to improve them

2.         A detailed implementation plan for putting the necessary and agreed upon actions into practice

3.         A procedures manual

4.         A training guide for staff on the new procedures manual

Key Competencies for the Consultant

-           University Degree in the Area of Finance / Business Management / audit

-           10 years of experience working with public or non-profit institutions in the domain of    finance management

-           Proven experience in producing high quality reports and guidelines

-           Demonstrated ability to facilitate participatory processes and workshops

-           fluency in French and English
