We are seeking a qualified candidate with grants management experience to support a grants portfolio under a PATH-led project in the province of Orientale, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC): the DRC Integrated HIV/AIDS Project (ProVIC). Under the supervision of ProVIC’s Finance Specialist, this Grants Assistant position will support the Regional Grants Manager in Kisangani and Senior Grants Manager in Kinshasa in conducting pre-award assessments of grants, in administering grants, in tracking deliverables and financial reconciliations, and in building local grantee capacity.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

· Support ProVIC’s Orientale Regional Grants Manager and Senior Grants Manager in Kinshasa in preparing grants-related documents, maintaining internal grants management/tracking tools, and ensuring timely closeout of grants.

· Assist in the financial and administrative management of grants, including by reviewing financial reports for contractual compliance, reviewing grantee cash requests, compiling grantee data for project and donor reports, monitoring grantee implementation progress, and communicating and coordinating with grantees and other project team members as needed.

· Champion records management efforts related to grants, including by supervising and ensuring rigorous and complete filing of grants-related, soft and hard copy records as needed.

· Other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills

· Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations as they relate to grants management; familiarity with development partners (USAID, Global Fund, etc.).

· Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Access.

· Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment, including with both administrative and technical staff.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and financial management skills.

· Fluency in spoken French; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

· Good working knowledge of English.

Required Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s degree. At least 2 or more years of experience in accounting and/or public/civil society administration. Experience administering USAID-funded grants, and in overseeing USAID-funded procurement.
