1.Main Purpose

To produce accurate cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Responsible for correct valuation of work in progress and project reconciliations and status monthly. Adhere to IFRs requirements in PPE reporting and valuation.
To assist regular and Adhoc analysis of business performance from time to time.
To perform revenue assurance procedures to ensure that the business does not lose money to unbilled revenue streams

2.Performance Criteria

Ensure complete and timely update of fixed assets registers to record new assets, transfers, and disposals;
Ensure Assigning of tag numbers to all fixed assets;
Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed;
Reviews project reconciliations monthly and follow up on WIP ageing to close long outstanding projects;
Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets;
Review depreciation calculation and update the detailed schedule of all fixed assets and accumulated depreciation;
Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets and recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of;
Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets;
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations;
Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries;
Ensure that all financial entries are posted into Pastel as per the Accounting Policy and Procedures Manual;
Reviews PPE note and general ledger reconciliations;
Approve journal vouchers for posting into Pastel;
Ensure compliance with group reporting requirements;
Assist the preparation of monthly performance analysis reports;
Assist with the preparation of Business Cases;
Review project appraisals that will be done on almost all new projects going forward;
Prepare and distribute departmental cost center performance reports monthly;
Assist with the budget preparation process;
Assist with the preparation of the Monthly Management Report for discussion with the group;
Load budgets and forecasts into HFM as will be required from time to time;
Work with commercial in ways possible to assist them to sign new customers where financial expertise can be used to ease a seemingly complex problem;
Identify areas on an on-going basis where costs can be saved, revenue enhanced and leading to profitability improvements;
Prepare and update Cash Flow Forecasts on a weekly basis;
Prepare and update a rolling forecast for operational performance;
Review service delivery process regularly to identify revenue leakage points;
Work with cross functional teams to come up with solutions to plug revenue leakage points. Ensure that agreed action items are implemented;
Prepare monthly revenue assurance reports and share with the FM/CFO;
At a minimum revenue assurance reports should cover:
 Comparison of what is being billed to what is configured on the network. (Billing system to Network);
Identification of network resources that are being under-utilized;
Comparison of what is configured on the network to what is being billed. (Network to Billing System);
Time taken to complete the service delivery process on average for all projects implemented in the month;
Monitors the overall welfare of staff (such as sickness and death of family members), and takes the appropriate action for immediate assistance;
Pre -approves, or signs off (as applicable) leave, sick leave and requisition requests;
Approves overtime requests by staff in order to meet deadlines.

3.Accountable for:

Managing relationships with the subcontractors
Reporting of work in progress and Capex budget tracking to the Finance Manager
Reporting risks to the company and how to mitigate these to the Finance Manager
Meeting monthly reporting deadlines

4.Job Requirements

First Degree in Degree in Accounting or Finance;
Professional Qualification e. g CIMA/ACCA/CA;
Projects accounting 3 Years minimum;
Fixed assets accounting 2 Years minimum;
Basic accounting 5 Years minimum;
Financial Accounting rules and regulations;
Tax and regulators’ requirements;
Knowledge of IFRS;
Knowledge of Budget processes;
People management;
Excellent judgement skills;
Ability to work independently and in a team setting;
Ability to resolve conflict and negotiations;
Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills;
Well-developed relationship building skills;
Supervisory skills;
Excellent Communication skills.
