Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction and supervision of the Chief of technical Unit in PID, the Regional broadcast studio technician will perform tasks related to the installation, maintenance and repair of studio equipment and studio’s broadcasting equipment and transmitters.

1. Responsibilities:
• She/he carries out regular installation maintenance work as well as repairs equipment when they are damaged.
• She/he must have practical experience installing HF and VHF/UHF radio equipment, including the proper placement and orientation or aerials and studio broadcast equipment.
• She/he must be prepared to work on towers at heights of up 30m.
• She/he will maintain records of the installations and repairs done and keeps the Head of division fully informed on the status of equipment.
• Using general purpose bench test equipment, she/he must be able to analyze and identify electronic faults, both digital and analogue, on SMT component PBCS to board level and to component level component replaceable PCBs.
• She/He must have the skills, to be able to replace PCB components, e.g soldering fit connectors to cables, Coaxial, aerial components, etc. Prepare periodic reports on workshop activities.
• She/He will provide technical briefing/training on the equipment ensuring that local Radio technicians and users are able to maintain/use the equipment.
• She/he must have good computer skills and be able to install and configure, Windows, Standard office productivity and broadcast sound/communications specific software.
• She/He will assist with the selection, supervision and training the local radio technicians.
• She/he must have no impediment to her/his work mobility as she/he will be expected to work where and when required, often at short notice, to support MONUSCO field operations.

• Communications: Good communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts and recommendations to non-technical staff at all levels, in a clear and concise style.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EDUCATION: A high school diploma. Additional diploma in electronic/sound engineering or other related field will be an asset.
2. EXPERIENCE: At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in broadcast studios live and production, reporting, computer technology. Absolutely necessary to have an acoustic experience in field or studio…
3. LANGUAGE: Good knowledge of spoken English and French and the ability to comprehend well when the duties and technical tasks are assigned by the Supervisor.
4. Other Skills: Good computer skills and be able to install and configure, Windows, Standard office. Valid driving license would be an advantage.
