Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Data collection
- To visit international and national partners, local authorities and groups and gather information related to humanitarian issues in the area of responsibility
- To support partners in setting up monitoring tools and mechanisms;
- To gather and verify information related to humanitarian needs in the region;
- To facilitate information flow within the Sector and exchange of information between and with partners
- To implement regular field visits as instructed by supervisor;
Advocacy and training
- To take part in any meeting with international and national partners as instructed by the supervisor
- To facilitate contacts with the local NGOs
- To facilitate the expedite processing of MOPs and CMRs submitted by humanitarian partners; maintain detailed record of the movement of personnel and of cargo.
Reporting
- To conduct enquiries concerning humanitarian assistance requests addressed to the HAS;
- To draft response letter to individuals approaching the HAS as instructed by the supervisor;
- To assist in drafting ad hoc and monthly reports;
- To produce a monthly activity report
Facilitation
- To help attend meetings, conferences and seminars and assist in drafting minutes of these events;
- To translate and interpret into local languages when visiting field locations;

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in working in humanitarian affairs. Excellent reporting experience is required. Experience in Word processing and Excel is desirable.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written French is required. Fluency in oral and written English is an added advantage.
