Description of Duties: Under the supervision of the Receiving and Inspection Supervisor: The Staff member will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensures that items received are in accordance with specifications, terms and conditions specified in relevant Purchase Order (PO), Letter-of-Assistance (LOA) or Contract;
  • Participate in receiving and inspection procedures throughout the mission area for delivery of ration and other assets as required;
  • Inspect and Receive bulk Fuel and Lubricant and prepare the necessary report for speedy processing and delivery.
  • Process R&I Reports on both UN System: Mercury and Galileo;
  • Submit R&I Report and/or and Discrepancy Report (DR) to Procurement, Self-Accounting Unit (SAU), Property Control Unit (PCIU) as well as UN Headquarter;
  • Data entry of non-expendable assets and attractive items into Galileo, as well as monitoring the accuracy and comprehensive of all items reflected in Galileo, as being and entered into the mission assets database;
  • Bar-code all assets in collaboration with Self Accounting Unit, PCIU and Procurement Sections in line with new deliveries, storage, technical inspection and physical checks.
  • Conduct Board of Survey in conjunction with the SAUs, PCIU and Property Disposal Unit (PDU) and subsequently prepare report and update the Galileo accordingly;
  • Submit Weekly Log Report to R & I  Unit Supervisor.
  • Availability to report to work at short notice and even during holidays as and when required.
  • Availability to deploy in any MONUSCO area in DRC, for operational requirement.
  • Perform other related task/duties, as required by R & I supervisor or Chief of Unit.

v Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of high school diploma in Logistics, Property and Inventory Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics.
  • 3 years of experience in Logistics, Property management or related areas. Previous work experience in the field with R&I and Property Management is an advantage.
  • Good computer skills, including: Word Processing, Excel, e-mail, Internet is required.

Knowledge in Galileo, Mercury, and Business Object Applications are an advantage

Competencies

  • Professionalism: A comprehensive grasp of inventory accounting practices, data base management and Enterprise Reporting System. Ability to define and analyze trends in the Property Management area, operate project management software and develop reports and complex text documents. Ability to maintain focus and accuracy for sustained periods.
  • Planning and Organizing: Demonstrated skills and ability to coordinate the work of others, work to tight deadlines and handle multiple concurrent projects/activities.
  • Communication: Proven communication (verbal and written) skills, including ability to prepare a range of reports and communications.
  • Technological Awareness: High Expertise in Information Technology and its application to business practices and procedures, relevant to property management and distribution control and inventory. Excellent knowledge of methodologies for database management and analysis is essential.
  • Teamwork: Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Ready to frequent missions in DRC territory.
