Swedish development cooperation in DR Congo is implemented by the Embassy of Sweden in Kinshasa. The work is carried out in cooperation with colleagues at the Embassy as well as colleagues at Sida in Stockholm. The Swedish development cooperation amounts to around 70 MUSD (including the humanitarian work) per year and the current country strategy focus on Peace, reconciliation and democratic governance; pro-poor economic development; and health. Gender is an integrated part in all the work. The person recruited will work on good governance with a focus on gender equality and justice reforms.

Job description
The NPO will participate in the following duties:
- Assessment, monitoring and follow-up of programme proposals in accordance with Swedish Government policies, and Sida’s guidelines rules and regulations.
- Follow DRC news and developments relevant to the Swedish Development co-operation, especially in the area of gender equality and reforms within the justice sector
- Control, report and financial follow-up to specific programmes
- Participate in the contracting of consultants
- Attend, represent and report to the Embassy, as required, in meetings, seminars and/or conferences in the DRC
- Build and maintain networks with other development co-operation actors in DRC in relevant fields
- Participate in the Embassy’s internal reporting and planning activities
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
The person should have the following qualifications:
- A university degree in political, economic or social science or law
- Minimum five years’ professional experience in relevant and related fields
- Experience of working in a multilateral, bilateral, international or national organizations in development cooperation
- Proven experience of working with gender equality and/or good governance. Experience of working justice reforms would be considered as an advantage.
- Proven ability to independently manage and monitor development assistance
- Excellent analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English is an absolute most. Fluency in French is also required. Knowledge of Lingala and/or other official Congolese languages will be considered an advantage. Please note that candidates will be tested on their language skills.

- High level of computer proficiency
