- I. Job Title : Risk (Safety & Health ) ManagerClient : AAA drc
1) Reports To: MD: AAA DRC
2) Job Grade: 6
3) Internal customers:
- AAA DRC Management team
- AAA Group – Technical
4) External Customers:
- Government, Local Communities, Local Industry, Interested and Affected Parties
- II. Purpose of Job:
1) To lead and direct AAA drc with regard to AAA S&H management requirements.
2) To design, develop, implement and maintain AAA drc S&H Management Program.
3) To monitor and report on AAA drc S&H performance
4) To assess, advise and assist AAA drc in maintaining world class S&H performance
5) Audit AAA drc sites for compliance with AAA drc S&H policies, standards, etc.
6) Coordinate AAA drc Occupational Health program.

1) Relevant tertiary degree
2) Extensive safety and health qualifications
- IV. Special Requirements:
1) Computer literacy (Microsoft and Achiever (plus)
2) Sound all-round knowledge all aspects heavy industry & construction
3) Technical and leadership ability
4) Ability to mentor Risk (S&H) Personnel; consultants, service providers & contractors
5) Ability to interact effectively with persons at all levels at all sites & different cultures
6) Understand the environmental and social problems/opportunities and be able to clearly communicate the solutions to a broader stakeholders
7) Regular in-country travel
- V. Experience:
1) Previous experience in the cement manufacturing industry (SHE disciplines)
2) Previous experience in heavy industry / construction
3) Previous experience in project and construction management
4) 10 Years S&H management experience
5) At least 5 years in a management position
- VI. Accountabilities:
1) Implement AAA drc S&H leadership & management system
2) Implementation of effective S&H leadership and management system
3) Reduction of LTIFR
4) Eliminate fatalities and permanently disabling injuries
- VII. Key Outputs:
1) Develop AAA drc S&H strategy
2) Develop S&H systems and policies to support AAA Group and AAA drc strategies
3) Implement and maintain of AAA drc S&H systems, policies, standards and procedures.
4) Co-ordinate Safety Performance Culture program
5) Monitor and enhance the effectiveness of AAA drc S&H management systems
6) Sound working relationships with relevant key stakeholders of different cultures & different backgrounds
7) Develop / review AAA group S&H competencies for AAA drc personnel
8) AAA drc operation and construction activities compliant with AAA group S&H policies and DRC legal requirements, international standards (e.g. IFC Performance Standards, and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines, OHSAS 18001).
9) Legislation.
10) Evaluation of equipment options ensuring S&H standards adhered to.
11) Conduct S&H audits, advise on and monitor action plans
12) AAA drc operations and construction S&H governance and reporting.
13) Compilation of S&H data and management information for AAA drc .
14) S&H knowledge transfer to AAA drc operations and construction staff
15) S&H evaluation / analysis reports and presentations.
16) Manage financial expenditure within agreed plan.
17) Ensure AAA drc operations& construction is legally compliant for country (e.g. appointments).
18) Implement AAA group risk requirements for AAA drc operations and construction (all phases of project).
19) Ensuring design, construction, installation and commissioning of infrastructure consider and include relevant S&H requirements, including legal compliance.
20) Champion AAA drc incident investigations and reporting
21) Guide AAA drc team members on risk assessments and controls
22) Develop and maintain AAA drc Emergency response plan
23) Setup and manage AAA drc occupational Health program
24) Setup and manage AAA drc occupational awareness Hygiene program
25) Planning environmental training and programs for employees and contractors
